Developing tomorrow’s intellectual leaders
One of the most important responsibilities for many academics is teaching and developing tomorrow’s intellectual leaders. The Chicago Center for Teaching (CCT) supports University instructors—graduate students, postdocs, faculty members, and other academic appointees—in developing effectiveness with the goal of enhancing student learning across campus. The center’s aim is to promote teaching as a scholarly practice that is integral to the University’s values.
UChicago GRAD equips graduate students and postdoctoral scholars to thrive in a wide variety of careers and settings. A national model, UChicago GRAD’s pioneering, tailored initiatives range from training in writing and public speaking to career exploration treks, internships, employer recruitment fairs, and alumni networking events.
The CCT provides confidential consultation services by request to all faculty members, lecturers, and instructional professors. CCT staff can also work with departments, divisions, and schools to develop pedagogical programming tailored to the needs and aims of your unit. Schedule an appointment online.
Academics can access a number of resources related to building a more inclusive classroom environment, including the inclusive pedagogy website.
