An extraordinary year (plus) of teaching in the midst of a pandemic has compelled us to learn, develop, and adopt a number of new teaching practices. With teaching and learning heading into yet another new phase in the next academic year, what have we learned from our pandemic teaching experiences, and how might those lessons shape our pedagogy going forward? What practices or tools will we keep? What new approaches will we translate into our (eventual) in-person classrooms? In this panel discussion, faculty from across the disciplines will share their initial thoughts and questions on these issues, providing fodder for further reflection on how to think about the next pedagogical moment.

Panelists:

  • Chris Andrews, Senior Lecturer & Senior Adviser, Biological Sciences Collegiate Division
  • John Boller, Senior Instructional Professor & Co-Director of Undergraduate Studies, Mathematics
  • Sarah Newman, Assistant Professor, Anthropology
  • Na’ama Rokem, Associate Professor, Modern Hebrew Literature & Comparative Literature

The panel will be moderated by Joe Lampert, Director for Humanities and Social Sciences at the Chicago Center for Teaching and Senior Lecturer in the College.
