Developing a strong online presence is a valuable asset in today’s academic environment. By effectively using digital channels, faculty can draw more attention to their research and scholarship, and in some cases, to their academic field as a whole. This session will feature three University of Chicago faculty sharing how their online presence has enabled them to enhance the awareness and impact of their work, connect with other academics, and engage students. Panelists include:

  • Vineet Arora, MD, MAPP, Herbert T. Abelson Professor of Medicine, UChicago Medicine

  • Chris Blattman, Ramalee E. Pearson Professor of Global Conflict Studies, Harris School of Public Policy

  • Paul Poast, Associate Professor and Director of Graduate Studies, Department of Political Science

The session will be moderated by Ben Rissman, Assistant Vice President of Digital Communications, who will share additional tips and campus resources related to website development, social media engagement, podcasting, and digital accessibility.
