Mindfulness Meditation: Dealing with Difficult Emotions

9:00–9:30 am

May.

UChicago faculty are invited to learn mindfulness skills to help deal with difficult emotions in this half-hour session with Julie Edwards, Director of Health Promotion and Wellness. Unpleasant events may prompt us to project current difficulties into a seemingly unchanging future, increasing the stress or anxiety associated with these moments. Mindfulness can help us stay present, regain a more realistic perspective, and address intrusive or negative thoughts to more effectively handle challenging moments in our lives.

The workshop will include an opportunity to chat live with the presenter and will be recorded for future access. All participants will be sent the Zoom meeting link after their registration.
