Offered in partnership between the Office of the Provost and University Communications, the Academic Communicators Network (ACN) is a track in the Faculty Development Program that helps UChicago faculty enhance their capacity to communicate effectively with external audiences. Programming is offered throughout the academic year that provides insights into communications and media, with topics ranging from op-ed writing to media training to persuasive presentation skills and more.
This past summer, ACN launched ACN in Brief, a video series of best practices and quick tips for communicating effectively. The short videos offer a brief snapshot of content covered in ACN workshops. Videos include:
- Best Practices for Presenting Virtually
- Powerful Presentation Skills: Tips for Success
- Media Training: Quick Tips and Best Practices
- Best Practices for Op-ed Writing
Videos are available to UChicago academics on the ACN website. You must log in with your CNet ID and password to access the videos. Learn more about ACN and register for the final session of the Autumn Quarter, Say it Shorter: Communicating Your Research to Prospective Donors, coming up on Tuesday, November 16, from 10 – 11 a.m.
