The Office of the Provost assists University of Chicago academics with finding housing in the Chicago area. Our office can provide resources to ease your home and living transitions and help you build community in Chicago.
Relocation
We work with academic families relocating to the Chicago area. We recognize that the logistics of relocating your life to a new city can be complex, and we can provide assistance in the following areas:
- Connections with realtors for tours of Chicago neighborhoods and to explore home and other property purchases.
- Connections to rental properties and brokers to help you find rentals that work for you and your family.
- Recommendations for mortgage brokers who have worked with many UChicago clients.
- Referrals to University-preferred local and national moving companies.
- Local neighborhood overviews and guides.
Please contact facultyhousing@uchicago.edu so we can share resources to assist in your housing search. We would be happy to send you our Housing and Relocation Guide.
