The Office of the Provost's dual career services are designed to help the partners of new faculty with their job searches by offering networking opportunities and career resources. While we aim to help all academics, priority for these services is given to the partners of tenured and tenure-track faculty members.
Dual career services include:
- Individual consultation on a partner’s employment needs and career guidance for success in today’s job market
- Help identifying career opportunities at the University that are a fit for the partner’s background and experience
- Connections to University hiring units to express a dual career partner’s interest in posted positions
- Networking support for partners to increase their chances of success
The University staff who assist in dual careers are committed to helping partners with their job searches. Nevertheless, we cannot guarantee job placement. Faculty partners can make their job searches more successful by conducting an active and ongoing search and using the Faculty Life office as one of many resources. Please contact dualcareers@uchicago.edu for more information. We would be happy to share our Dual Career Guide with you.
