Your personal brand is a key component of your public perception as a scholar. It’s also a great tool for generating interest in your research across audiences, from current stakeholders to prospective donors and collaborators. Leveraging all aspects of your digital footprint, from social media platforms to professional websites like academia.edu, can help you take control of and maximize your personal brand online.

This session will provide an overview of what makes up a personal brand, outline its importance and value, and explain how to harness it to elevate your research and scholarship. You’ll learn a six-step process that will help you evaluate your personal brand and provide you with actionable tips you can implement quickly. The session will be led by Alastair Banks, digital strategist and co-founder of Optix Solutions, a digital agency based in the United Kingdom.
