Learn how to translate complex scientific ideas and research findings into accessible communications for the general public and academic peers. You’ll learn how to convey key points accurately while limiting jargon and avoiding oversimplification of information. This session will be led by Sandra Blakeslee, former New York Times science writer and contributing author of several books on science topics, including Dirt is Good: The Advantage of Germs for Your Child’s Developing Immune System. The session will be moderated by Vice Provost Melissa Gilliam, MD, MPH, Ellen H. Block Distinguished Service Professor of Health Justice, and Founder and Director of the Center for Interdisciplinary Inquiry & Innovation in Sexual and Reproductive Health (Ci3).
