Dual Careers

Dual Career Services provides resources and support for new and prospective faculty and their partners to help with successful relocation to the Chicago area. Services are individually tailored and include:

  • Guidance and networking support for faculty partners seeking meaningful careers in all fields.
  • Networking and assistance with volunteer placement for international faculty partners and resources for English language learners.
  • Assistance with locating a home in Chicago or the surrounding region, as well as information about the University’s Employer Assisted Housing Program.
  • Referrals and resources for childcare, K-12 public and private schools, recreational activities, eldercare, and relevant campus and community resources.

The University of Chicago is a founding member of the Greater Chicago Midwest Higher Education Recruitment Consortium (HERC). The HERC website identifies faculty and staff positions at more than 20 colleges and universities, along with research, medical, and cultural centers in the region.
